Dan passed away on May 3, 2018, under hospice care in Lincoln County, North Carolina of Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

He was born in Perry, Iowa on February 7, 1941, to the late Clifford and Claire Grimm and lived there until moving with his family to Des Moines where he attended Roosevelt High School. He received an athletic scholarship to the University of Colorado where he played football for four years. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers, then went on to play for the Atlanta Falcons, Washington Redskins, and Baltimore Colts.

In 1963 she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education at the University of Iowa where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She married James H. Dustin and had two children, Jennifer Deets (Chris) of Edina, MN, and Phillip Dustin of Des Moines. They were born in Darien, CT, where the family resided for 12 years.

Dolph 'Jeffery' Stanley: Madison, WI - Dolph 'Jeffery' Stanley known to many as the 'Hamburger King,' died at the age of 77 on the 5th January surrounded by family. He appeared on the planet February 11,1941, born to legendary Wisconsin basketball coach Dolph Stanley and Laura Jane Dial of Taylorville Illinois. Jeff was a larger than life character and had the ability to befriend most anyone he met in life. He grew up in Beloit, WI, and moved to Des Moines IA for his final high school years where his father was the athletic director at Drake University. He earned a degree at Parsons College, which he insisted must have been the inspiration for the movie 'Animal House.'

Donna Jean (Butler) Menken went peacefully to Heaven on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

She was the eldest daughter of Don and Doris (Devol) Butler. Donna called Des Moines, Iowa her hometown. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1959 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (now University of Northern Iowa) where she met, and then married, Don Menken in 1961. They moved, with their young children, Deanne and Dennis, to "beautiful northeast Iowa" and Donna resided in Elkader for 33 years.

Muffy was born November 15th, 1941 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. She passed into God’s celestial care on August 1st, 2021 at UnityPointe Hospice - Taylor House in Des Moines. She is survived by her husband, Henry, daughters Liesl (George) Roesch with grandsons Peter and Lawson and Abigail Allard with grandchildren Henry, Madeline and Elise. Steven was born February 5, 1941 in Marshalltown, the son of Murray and Bess (Fingert) Gorshel and lived in West Des Moines for 26 years. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, attended Drake University and served six years in the Marines Reserve.

Larry died yesterday morning after 5 weeks of hospitalization for aspiration pneumonia. He had been on antibiotics the entire time and intubated on a respirator the last 3 weeks. The last few days he became infected with C diffidens which must have overwhelmed his system. Because of Covid, Marilyn was unable to see him while he was hospitalized in ICU.
